We believe that due to widespread pandemic of the COVID-19 virus, there will be an inevitable slow down of recruiting across the country. This will likely hurt rising seniors and potential junior college transfers looking to make their transition during the summer time.  Although we are bummed by how the Coronavirus will impact the future of some of our athletes, we do understand the need for the slowdown in recruiting activity.

This is such a non-priority in the world compared to the health and safety of many, but we write about recruiting and this aspect of college football will be affected. March through June is a huge period for many commitments not only for 2021 prospects but 2022. Coaches also hit the road and unofficial and official visits are numerous. But with travel limited for the time being, that should slow things down quite a bit and could make for a busy fall.

There have been many talks this week of President Trump issuing a domestic ban on air travel.  Even though this announcement has yet to occur, schools across the country are canceling visits to their schools, they’re pulling coaches off the road and that is going to grind recruiting to a halt for everyone. Athletes are going to have fewer opportunities to get face-to-face interaction with their potential coaches.

Prospects are not going to go on as many visits, coaches are not going to be at as many schools, offers will slow down and thus commitments will take a pause as well. Many cities across the country are practicing social distancing, thereby slowing down many timelines and overall recruitment productivity.  Once the virus settles out, we could see a huge ramp-up in visits – especially at the JUCO levels – but that won’t be in the short term.

Although many of us are practicing social distancing, you can still take advantage of some of our free online services.  Sign up and start working on your game today.
